For patients choosing to pay out-of-pocket (self-pay), the rates are:

Note: Patients are responsible for copays, coinsurance deductibles, and a valid credit/debit card is needed on file.

Do you offer virtual or telehealth appointments?
Yes. Telehealth services are available through a secure, encrypted platform for patients across Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, New Hampshire, and Colorado.

What is your cancellation or missed appointment policy?
Patients must provide at least 24 hours’ notice if they need to cancel or reschedule an appointment to avoid a $50 late cancellation/no-show fee. Arriving more than 10 minutes late may result in having to cancel or reschedule. Repeated missed appointments without notice may result in discharge from the practice.
Do you provide one-time psychiatric evaluations for legal or employment purposes?
No. Sound Minds Psychiatry does not generally conduct one-time psychiatric evaluations for employment, medical clearance, disability, or legal purposes, though exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Do you handle mental health crises or emergencies?
No, they do not provide crisis intervention services. In the event of an emergency, they advise calling 911, visiting the nearest emergency room, or dialing the National Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988.

The clinician explores your mental health journey, lifestyle, and goals to provide an accurate diagnosis and suggest the most effective interventions for your specific needs.
How long is a follow-up medication management appointment?
A follow-up appointment for medication management lasts for 30 minutes and costs $120.
Are my sessions and records kept confidential?
Yes, patient privacy is a top priority. All information shared during visits and within patient charts is strictly confidential, adhering to ethical and legal standards. If you need your records released to another healthcare provider, you must complete a Release of Information (ROI) form first.

What exactly is the Creyos Cognitive Testing you offer?
Creyos (formerly Cambridge Brain Sciences) is a research-backed, online cognitive assessment platform. Patients can use a phone, tablet, or laptop (or an in-office device) to complete a series of engaging, interactive tasks lasting 1.5 to 3 minutes each. These tasks measure 12 core cognitive abilities (like Deductive Reasoning, Working Memory, and Attention). The test generates a detailed report showing your performance compared to others in your age group, which the clinician uses to guide your treatment plan.
