Not sure which appointment to book?

Tap whatever is closest to what's going on. We'll point you at the right first visit — every path below starts with the same evaluation, so you can't pick wrong.

Every route starts the same way

A comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, in person in Grand Prairie or by secure video anywhere in Texas. Pick an option above and we'll tell you what that first visit usually looks like.

Nothing you tap here is sent, stored or shared — it never leaves your browser. It's a signpost, not an intake form, and it isn't a diagnosis.

How it works

Three steps, and the first one takes about two minutes.

No referral needed. No waiting on a callback that never comes. You pick the time, we handle the coverage check, and your first visit is a real evaluation rather than a ten-minute triage.

Start with step one

Book online or by phone

Choose in person at our Grand Prairie office or a secure video visit from wherever you are in Texas. Weekday evenings and Saturday slots are part of the regular schedule, not a favour.

A 45–60 minute evaluation

Your history, what you've already tried, how you're sleeping, what work and family look like right now, and what you actually want to change. Unhurried, and with a supervising psychiatrist behind every plan.

Leave with a written plan

Medication, therapy, testing such as GeneSight or Creyos, or a combination — explained in plain language, with follow-up appointments booked before you walk out or close the laptop.

All eight services

Everything psychiatric care needs, under one practice.

Most DFW patients get bounced between a prescriber, a therapist and a testing centre that never speak to each other. Here it's one team, one chart, one plan.

Psychiatric Evaluations

The foundation of everything else: a full diagnostic assessment that looks at symptoms, history, physical health and life context before anyone reaches for a prescription pad.

Medication Management

Careful starts, honest conversations about side effects, and adjustments made on evidence rather than guesswork — with refills that don't require a two-week wait to renew.

In person & video Learn more

Therapy & Counseling

Structured, goal-directed talk therapy for anxiety, depression, trauma and life transitions — coordinated with your prescriber instead of running on a separate track.

Telehealth Psychiatry

HIPAA-secure video visits from your kitchen table, your car between shifts, or a dorm room in another part of the state. Same providers, same appointment length, no commute on I-35.

Anywhere in Texas Learn more

GeneSight Genetic Testing

A simple cheek swab that shows how your body is likely to metabolise specific psychiatric medications — so the next trial is an informed choice, not another round of trial and error.

Cheek swab Learn more

Creyos Cognitive Testing

Objective, validated tasks that measure attention, memory and executive function — the difference between a real ADHD evaluation and a five-minute checklist.

SPRAVATO® (esketamine)

A certified treatment centre for adults whose depression hasn't responded to two or more antidepressants. Administered and monitored on site, in a private, quiet suite.

BrainView Neural Scan

Non-invasive brain-activity measurement that adds objective data to the clinical picture — particularly useful when symptoms overlap or a diagnosis has never quite fit.

What we treat

If it's keeping you up at night, it belongs here.

You don't need a diagnosis before you call — that's our job. These are the conditions we see most across Dallas–Fort Worth.

When the usual playbook hasn't worked

Advanced care most DFW clinics refer out for.

If you've cycled through two, three, four antidepressants and been told to "give it another six weeks," you don't need more of the same guesswork. You need better data and a different mechanism — both of which live in this building.

SPRAVATO®

A certified esketamine treatment centre for adults with treatment-resistant depression — administered on site with the monitoring period the label requires. Details

GeneSight

Pharmacogenomic testing that maps your metabolism against specific psychiatric medications, so the next choice is informed rather than hopeful. Details

BrainView

A non-invasive neural scan that adds objective brain-activity measures when symptoms overlap or a label has never quite fit. Details

Creyos

Validated cognitive tasks for ADHD evaluation in adults, teens and college students — measured attention and executive function, not a checklist. Details

Telehealth across Texas

The metroplex is enormous. Your commute doesn't have to be.

Between the 30, the 35 and the 820, a "twenty-minute" DFW drive is rarely twenty minutes. Secure video visits take the traffic out of the decision entirely — and they're the same appointment, with the same provider, for the same length of time.

  • HIPAA-secure video — no app to install, no waiting room
  • Available anywhere you're physically located in Texas
  • Evaluations, medication management and therapy all supported
  • Switch between video and in person visit to visit, as life allows
How telehealth works
Who you'll actually see

A small team, on purpose.

You'll know your provider's name, and they'll know your history without re-reading it aloud at every visit.

Patient stories

Recommended across the metroplex.

★★★★★
I'd been on three different antidepressants over five years. The genetic testing explained in one appointment what nobody had bothered to check. First time I've felt like the plan was mine and not a default.
Renee T.Fort Worth
★★★★★
Booked on a Sunday night, seen by video on Thursday evening after work. No referral, no six-week wait, no driving to Grand Prairie in rush hour. That's the entire reason I finally went.
Marcus D.Plano
★★★★★
My son's ADHD evaluation involved actual testing and an hour of questions — not a prescription after ten minutes. His teachers noticed the difference within a term.

Coverage & affordability

Excellent care, in-network.

Good psychiatry shouldn't hinge on paying cash. Tell us your plan and we'll do the checking — so nobody finds out what a visit costs while they're sitting in it.

  • Benefits verified before your first appointment, not after it
  • 20+ plans accepted, Medicare and Medicaid included
  • Transparent self-pay rates if you're out of network

Don't see your plan? We accept additional carriers and verify every policy individually — send us your details and we'll confirm before you book.

Questions people ask first

Straight answers, before you book.

Most new patients are seen within days rather than months. Because we hold weekday evening and Saturday slots and offer secure video visits anywhere in Texas, you are not competing for a single 10 a.m. Tuesday opening. Book online or call (817) 755-5707 and we will find the soonest time that fits your schedule.

Yes. Sound Minds is in-network with 20+ plans, including United Healthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Aetna, Anthem, Optum, Medicare and Medicaid. Send your details to Info@soundmindspsych.com and we will verify your coverage before your first appointment, not after it. Transparent self-pay rates are available if you are out of network.

For psychiatric evaluations, medication management and therapy, secure video visits are held to the same clinical standard as in-office care — same providers, same length of appointment, same documentation. A few services are in-office by design, including SPRAVATO (esketamine) treatment and the BrainView neural scan. Our office is at 2100 N Hwy 360, Ste 405B in Grand Prairie, central to both Dallas and Fort Worth.

Your first visit is a full psychiatric evaluation, not a rushed intake. We take the time to understand your history, what you have already tried, your sleep, your work and family context, and what you actually want to change. You leave with an explanation of what we think is going on and a written plan — which may include medication, therapy, testing such as GeneSight or Creyos, or a combination.

Yes. We use Creyos cognitive testing alongside a structured clinical interview so an ADHD diagnosis rests on measured attention, memory and executive-function data — not a five-minute checklist. We treat adults, teens and college students across DFW, and we coordinate accommodations documentation when a school or employer requires it.

Treatment-resistant depression is a large part of what we do. GeneSight genetic testing shows how your body is likely to process specific medications, the BrainView neural scan adds objective brain-activity data, and our certified SPRAVATO (esketamine) treatment center offers a different mechanism of action for people who have not responded to two or more antidepressants. All of it is overseen with a supervising psychiatrist, Dr. Azeza Uddin, MD.

We serve the entire metroplex. Patients come to the Grand Prairie office from Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Mansfield, Southlake, Richardson, Plano, Keller, Euless, Bedford, Hurst, Cedar Hill, Duncanville and DeSoto — and telehealth reaches anyone located anywhere in Texas at the time of the visit.

Yes, and it is the reason many patients switch to us. Your prescriber and your therapy work sit inside one chart and one team, so nobody is guessing what the other is doing. You can start with either one and add the other at any point without a new referral or a second intake.
